IMAGE-X, for ten years a leader in the
Document Imaging Management field, now
supports low-end scanners and has created distributed scanning,
in order to cover the industry from top to bottom. IMAGE-X
and Visioneer, a leader in the scanner market, have signed
an agreement under which IMAGE-X is supporting
the Visioneer low-end scanner for its distributed scanning
environment. Now Visioneer's large installed customer base
can receive the benefits of high-end document imaging performance.
According to the old model of document imaging, scanning
was done by a small number of centralized high-speed scanners
placed strategically within an organization. Today low-cost,
limited-throughput scanners today are optimized for excellent
imaging performance, and are so inexpensive that it is feasible
to put one on every desk in an organization. Now each user
can do their own scanning and upload scanned images to a
central server. The IMAGE-X Vault technology
makes distributed scanning feasible by making possible distributed
storage with remote access via an internet or other browser.
Document imaging now becomes available for only tens of
dollars per user per month.
Dr. Mohammed Shaikh of IMAGE-X says, "Visioneer
scanners allow IMAGE-X to take its enterprise level technology
that was previously only available for thousands of dollars
to be made available to people for twenty-nine ninety-five
a month. This new model breaks all price barriers for the
use of document imaging on the desktop."
Pat Ripepi, Visioneer's National Marketing Director, said,
"We are pleased that the IMAGE-X Vault
technology allows the present users of Visioneer to have
access to the robust document imaging functionality of the
IMAGE-X Vault."
A special promotion allows existing Visioneer users three
months' free use of the IMAGE-X Vault.
Visioneer users are urged to telephone (805) 964-3535 for
